Thank you for visiting!
Here I go again, taking on Sealfit in 2020. Last year's event had a profound effect on me and I am looking forward to taking it on again in 2020.
I am currently registered for the 24-hour event and may decide to upgrade to the 50-hour event provided everyone in my household is healthy...........TBD.
As we get into 2020 I will update this page with my progress and training. I would love to share my experience with others and I hope I can convince you to join me on this journey.
Baycrest is an amazing organization and we are raising money for something that will affect all of us.....making getting older better.

Update 1 - Jan 1, 2020
Happy New Year
As I reflect on 2019 my thoughts keep taking me back to one event that had a profound impact on me, Sealfit. Sealfit made me a better professional, father and husband all while raising over $350,000 for Baycrest. The event had such a positive impact on me I decided to take it on again in 2020 and co-chair the event with a fantastic team.
If you are looking to learn more about yourself, how to be a better leader, how to be a better team player, how to be a better follower, how to listen better, how to follow instructions better (wife is a big fan of this one) how to integrate into a team of unknown individuals quickly and effectively....the list goes one.....then think about participating in this years event. Maybe even bring your team, it will be well worth it for everyone.
Sealfit is regarded as the hardest civilian training in the world but don’t let that statement scare you off. Do you need to prepare for this? 100% you do but its completely doable for everyone and I am happy to assist. Last year we had a very diverse group of 60 men and women representing many different age groups and physical capabilities. We even had a few participants over the age of 65 (oldest was 72) who finished their events (6 and 12 hours) no problem. The two common traits we all shared was the willingness to challenge ourselves and being comfortable being uncomfortable.
This year's event takes place in August and there are 4 events to choose from: 6 hours, 12 hours, 24 hours & 50 hours. We all start together (other than the 50-hour event) and finish depending on which event you are registered for. To learn more visit: http://sealfit.baycrest.org/
The funds raised go to support care, research and programs at Baycrest, a global leader in aging and brain health care, research and education. These funds allow Baycrest to conduct research, offer programming and support, educate the next generation of healthcare providers, and so much more. In 2020 we have much higher aspirations.
If you are looking to evolve professionally and/or personally and you are looking for a challenge all while raising funds for a great cause feel free to reach out I would be happy to chat with you about my experience.
Thanks
Allan
